WANBOROUGH CUP ENTRY
RULES
- A multiple teams of four competition between the teams’ champions of affiliated clubs.
- Each affiliated club may enter one team, which has qualified
by competition, to represent the club.
- The results of the qualifying competition must be available
to the Chief Tournament Director.
- All team members must be bona fide members of the club they
represent but need not be members of the Surrey County Bridge Association
or the English Bridge Union.
- The choice of team to be entered by each club must be according to these priorities:
- The club to be represented by its champion team comprising of 4 players who have
previously played in that team in the Championship event.
- Alternatively, the club may be represented by its runner-up team comprising of 4
players who have previously played in that team.
- Failing that, additional players from the runner-up
team may be added to the champion team so as to make a new team of 4 players.
- If a team of 4 cannot be found from the above
three conditions, an additional player must be nominated to the Chief
Tournament Director, in writing, giving full reasons for the request.
At his discretion this additional person may play provided that the C.T.D.
is of the opinion that he/she will not significantly enhance the strength
of the team.
- Systems and Conventions permitted are those covered by Level
4 licence as set out in the current EBU Conventions handbook.
- There will be at least one short interval.
